Replacing dated tools
with a product that felt
premium and
practical.
Skegr was conceived as a custom-built campsite operations and booking platform that could move beyond the dated, inflexible feel of many existing tools in the market. The goal was not just to modernise the interface, but to improve how campsites are run and how campers book.
Vikn Studio led the execution end to end: shaping the brand, product direction, workflow design, user experience, and software delivery across both sides of the platform. The result was a system designed to work as a serious operational tool for campsite owners while presenting a more polished, trustworthy experience to customers.
Legacy software expectations
Many campsite platforms feel dated and rigid, forcing operators to work around the system instead of with it. Skegr needed to offer a more capable and considered alternative.
Two very different user groups
The platform had to serve campsite owners managing day-to-day operations and campers making bookings online. Both experiences needed to feel intuitive, but for very different reasons.
Product depth without friction
Bookings, payments, check-ins, pitch details, and operations tooling all needed to work together in one cohesive product without becoming bloated or difficult to use.
Brand, product,
workflows, and software
designed as one
system.
Rather than treating Skegr as only a booking app or only an internal system, the product was shaped as a complete platform. That meant mapping operator workflows, defining the booking journey, designing the interface language, and ensuring the product felt coherent at every touchpoint.
Vikn Studio led the visual language and product feel as well as the software execution itself: operator dashboards, booking flows, payments infrastructure, campsite management tools, check-in experiences, and camper-facing search and pitch-detail views. The aim throughout was a platform that felt more refined and brand-led than the legacy tools it set out to replace.
